CritiCare Asia Hospitals, one of Mumbai’s established multi-specialty healthcare networks, has introduced the CORI robotic-assisted surgical system for joint replacement procedures, strengthening its orthopedic care capabilities as the group completes 25 years of operations.

The launch event was marked by the inauguration of the advanced robotic platform by Filmmaker and Choreographer Farah Khan, who formally unveiled the system on February 15. Speaking at the event, she noted that investments in cutting-edge healthcare technology can significantly reduce pain and recovery time for patients, enabling them to return to their daily routines faster.

Developed by Smith+Nephew, the CORI system is designed to assist surgeons with real-time data and precision tools for bone preparation and implant positioning. Hospital officials said the technology supports improved accuracy during surgery, potentially leading to better joint function and quicker rehabilitation. The robotic programme is also being expanded beyond knee replacements to include robotic-assisted hip procedures, as well as total and partial knee surgeries.

The hospital network operates four facilities across Mumbai - Andheri, Juhu, Malad and Kurla - with a combined capacity of over 650 beds. Over the years, the group has focused on integrating advanced medical technologies alongside clinical expertise.
